ESTA FEE
ESTA Application Processing Fee
Do New Zealand Citizens have to pay an application ESTA fee?
Yes, starting on September 8, 2010, the Travel Promotion Act of 2009 imposes an ESTA service fee. The fee charged by most websites divides in two parts:
ESTA Processing Fee: All travelers applying for the Electronic System for Travel Authorization usually pay an initial fee to cover the cost of processing and submitting the ESTA application. The processing fee varies depending on the website the applicant utilizes to submit the application.
Government Fee: There is a mandatory U.S. government fee of USD 21 which includes in the total price.
You should cover the processing fee and the mandatory U.S. government fee at the same time.
ESTA travel visa application in three easy steps:

How can I Cover for my ESTA Processing Fee?
You can pay ESTA service fees by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Once you cover the ESTA Processing fee, you can travel to the USA for up to 90 days. If we approve your application, you will receive your ESTA within 72 hours. it will be valid for 2 years. Afterward, you can travel to the United States if you are from a Visa Waiver country, such as New Zealand.
However, if your ESTA Visa NZ is rejected, you only pay USD 4 and the remaining amount will be returned to your credit card. You can submit your ESTA applications or with the help of travel agents, private processing companies, friends, or relatives. However, they must indicate for whom they are paying the application fee.
Is it possible to pay for more than one ESTA processing fee with the same payment?
Yes. It is possible to submit one payment for several applications at once for groups, families, or companies as long they are submitted at the same time. These travelers do not need to travel together, even though their applications have been submitted together. Each family member or individual planning to travel in the group should still fill out their own ESTA application. Prior to actually making a payment, users can click "add individual" and fill out applications for each individual. When you have finished filling out all of the applications, users can pay for them all at once. You won't be paying for each member individually this way. Payments can only be made with a credit card or through PayPal. As soon as the collective application is approved, the group must select a single contact person? (the intention of phrase was unclear to me). Please take note of the group-ID number that will be generated automatically so that you can check on the status of the applications or make any necessary changes. You can also request that the group-ID number be emailed to you.
How many ESTA applications can I submit with one payment?
You may submit up to fifty ESTA applications at once with a single payment. The travelers do not need to travel together, even though their applications have been submitted together.
Are credit card payments secure?
Yes. The ESTA system or Pay.gov does not save your credit card information. If you are using a third-party service, it is important to ensure the company has a secure website. Which means it uses a recognized secure certificate (SSL).
Your transaction information is protected with 128-bit SSL encryption. Furthermore, for any account numbers you enter, we encode your profile. Any account numbers you have registered will be concealed on-screen when you access your profile. We display account numbers on each profile as a cluster of asterisks. It will be accompanied by the last 4 digits of the account information.

Are there other countries that charge entry/exit ESTA fees?
Yes. At least 56 countries require entry, exit, visa waiver, or other kinds of travel fees. The visa waiver and travel authorization application costs can vary from 10 to 150 US dollars depending on the destination country and nationality of the traveler. Many countries that let travelers enter the country visa-free and require no travel authorization also entail some costs, though they are usually hidden from the travelers. These costs are often included in the price of the flight tickets. Many countries such as Canada and Australia also have travel authorization forms similar to the US. For example, Electronic Travel Authorization for Canada (eTA) costs around 7 Canadian dollars, while the ETA for Australia costs over 20 Australian dollars. In the near future, there will likely be a European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) for visa-exempt travelers visiting the Schengen zone. ETIAS will be very similar to ESTA and will also incur costs for visa waiver application fees.
Do children pay ESTA Processing Fee?
Yes. ESTA cost is also applicable to children, and is the same price as the application for the adults. Both accompanied and unaccompanied minors must submit individual ESTA applications and pay the service fee. However, children cannot apply for ESTA on their own. The ESTA application for minors should be completed by a parent or legal guardian. If a person is 16 or older, they can submit their own application and pay ESTA fees.
How much is the ESTA Processing Fee?
The fee is associated with the Travel Promotion Act of 2009 and can be split into two parts:
Processing Fee: Depending on the service or website you are using, the processing fee can be up to USD 100.
Government Fee: Total ESTA application cost to the traveler includes the USD 21 mandatory U.S. government fee. If your ESTA NZ is not approved, you usually will not be charged any fees, or pay only USD 4 as mandated by the U.S. government.
